On April 21, 2017, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (“Board”) issued a procedural order and initiated a BGS proceeding for the period starting June 1, 2018 (Docket No. ER17040335). The Board asked that by July 1, 2017, interested stakeholders file their proposals for the procurement of BGS.
The EDCs have filed with the Board their Proposal for the provision of Basic Generation Service for the period beginning June 1, 2018. The EDCs propose that BGS procurement be conducted through a statewide Auction Process that simultaneously seeks offers for all BGS Load in the state. Two auctions will be held concurrently, one for larger customers on an hourly price plan (BGS-CIEP) and one for residential and small commercial customer pricing (BGS-RSCP).
